New Website Redesign: OhanaHC
Pink Dog Digital is proud to unveil a new website design for Ohana of Howard County! OhanaHC does wonderful work for our local community. They aim to help struggling and underserved students in high schools throughout Howard County by pairing them with volunteer mentors and providing the resources they need to thrive.
We were really excited to work on this site and help OhanaHC with their goal of reaching more potential volunteers and benefactors!
Site Design
With the design of the site as a whole, we took a lot of inspiration from the OhanaHC logo. It features stylized heads and arms in all different colors circled together – meant to represent their vision of bringing a community together in a spirit of inclusivity. So, we decided to use a lot of different colors in the site design. There are splashes of green, blue, purple, and orange throughout the site; in buttons and breaks within the white space.
We also made use of a lot of photography to really drive home the spirit of community that OhanaHC is built on. Pictures from the annual OhanaHC 5K, soon to be running for the 3rd time next month, are prominent.
SEO
SEO is especially important for a nonprofit like Ohana as more visibility in search will translate to more charitable donations. This, in turn, helps the organization reach and help more local students.
Our SEO efforts are rooted in a set of strategies and best practices that have been proven to work. We utilize on-page SEO tactics such as internal linking, proper formatting, and keyword usage. Our SEO experts also utilize off-page SEO techniques such as backlinks to increase the domain authority, helping the site perform better in SERPs.
We also keep up-to-date with the latest developments in Google search, such as the upcoming implementation of Google Gemini, to ensure all of the sites we work on are ready for the future.
