Watts has been a trusted partner for residential and commercial window cleaning services throughout the area since their foundation in 1962. Over the years, they’ve made their name on providing the very best in customer service and satisfaction – in many cases their relationships span decades! We were so excited to give the Watts website the same kind of attention that they give to their customers’ windows and awnings, and we’re really proud of the end result.
Web Design
When you visit the Watts Building Solutions website, you might notice the balance we tried to strike between imagery and white space. This balance is critical for the success of a design – too much imagery can make a site feel rather busy (and could compromise on performance), while too much white space will make a site feel barren. We used a splash image of an employee cleaning a window to make the value proposition clear immediately. We also used images of a Watts cleaning van to bookend the initial bit of content. From here, we use a balanced blend of color and white space to draw the eye to various elements. All of this serves to highlight elements of the home page and make it easy for potential customers to find what they are looking for.
SEO
Apart from modernizing the design of the business website, one of the main goals of the new Watts Building Solutions site project was to increase the optimization for search engines. A website could look good enough to be on display at the Louvre – but if it doesn’t have good SEO, it doesn’t hold much value for a business. The old Watts website had some content on it, but it didn’t really age well in the context of current-day SEO. So, our experts wrote brand new foundational content for the website that utilizes both visible and invisible SEO best practices, such as keyword usage, proper headings, internal linking, and proper metadata and schema. By doing this, we make it easier for Google to, in essence, read the site and, over time, give the site increased visibility through higher SERPs.
