New Website Launch: Hallmark Lights
Pink Dog Digital is pleased to announce the launch of a new website for Hallmark Lights! Drawing inspiration from the Christmas markets in cities and towns throughout Europe, Hallmark Lights aims to help homeowners and business owners spread holiday cheer with their bespoke holiday lighting displays. They offer an all in one service that includes design, installation, maintenance, teardown, and storage in a climate-controlled environment. Hallmark Lights came to us with a vision for their website and their brand. We were able to take this vision and combine with our SEO knowledge to create a website that will look great no matter what time of the year it is!
Design
On the design front, Hallmark Lights wanted the main color highlight for their website to be gold. This would evoke feelings of elegance that they wanted to convey with their brand. It also happens to be a pretty good visual for the concept of holiday lighting in general! We also used a dark mode motif for this site that also mimics the night sky in the cold of winter, while the gold accents and white text stands in for the lighting that Hallmark Lights has on offer. It happens to be one of the few websites we’ve done with a dark mode motif and we think the results were truly special!
The home page also uses a video splash to bring scenes from the holidays to the forefront. The website also uses imagery of elegant lighting displays from homes and businesses to help potential customers visualize the possibilities that working with Hallmark Lights could bring. At the bottom of each page, we placed a Call to Action section to make it easy for customers to send their details to the team at Hallmark. This will help them increase their qualified leads and should lead to more sales!
SEO
Search engine optimization is the most important thing to keep in mind when building a website. Even in the first stages of conceptualizing a design, SEO needs to be planned for and considered thoroughly. For the Hallmark Lights website, we used a number of techniques that have been proven to produce results in the form of increased traffic and better Google search engine rankings. We produced the written content on each page and grounded it in keyword research to help the site get seen by the Google algorithms. Each page on the site is optimized individually with metadata, and the site as a whole is programmed to be as easy for Google to see as possible. Great SEO takes time to develop – however, taking the time to lay down these foundations properly is crucial for the success of the project.
