Do B2B companies need social media?

Yes! Social media offers B2B companies a platform to build relationships with customers and business partners.

Since the target audience is businesses, social media might not directly lead to sales, but it will build brand recognition and put your products in front of corporate decision-makers. That way, when they are looking for new opportunities, your brand will be the first on their mind.

Professionals also use social media to build B2B partnerships. Social platforms offer a way to build social connections, network, coordinate meetings, and, ultimately, boost trust.

What social media channels are best for B2B companies?

A majority of B2B companies use LinkedIn exclusively. While LinkedIn is a great way to find leads, social media is more than just selling products.

Companies have a better chance of connecting with consumers when those consumers are already familiar with the brand and products. That is why B2B companies should be using other platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest to build brand awareness and identity.

What content should B2B post on social media?

The key to social media is posting content that will resonate with the audience. For B2B companies, the target audience is obviously businesses, but you should tailor your content to fit a wider audience.

Try sharing resources and information that will benefit both businesses and individuals. This could include technical support, industry news, or product recommendations.

What is the most important content type for social media in 2023?

Video, hands down. Everyone wants to see video today, mostly due to TikTok’s meteoric rise. Optimizing video for TikTok, Instagram/Facebook Reels, and YouTube is critical for any digital marketing strategy. You can learn more over on our i95 Business article.

What are the top social media trends for 2023?

So far, the top trends include influencer marketing, artificial intelligence, video, and authenticity. What people are looking for more than anything in marketing right now is authenticity. They don’t want heavily edited photos and videos, but something more genuine. Stick to your branding and humanize your brand for the best results.

What is the best time to post to social media?

Good question – and the answer is… it depends on your industry, the type of content, and which social media platform you’re posting to. As a general rule, though, these are the best times to post to each platform:

Facebook: Weekdays at 3 AM

Instagram: Weekdays between 10 AM and 1 PM

Twitter: Weekdays at 9 AM

LinkedIn: Tuesdays from 10AM- 12PM

As a rule of thumb, Sunday is the worst day to post to any social media platform.

What are the best ways to increase engagement on social media?

Ask questions! People love to be heard. We also always recommend using any user generated content that you have. You can read more about that here

How much time do people spend on social media?

In 2022, people spent over two trillion hours on social media apps. The top app that people are downloading and spending time in across the globe is still Instagram but TikTok is following very closely on its heels.

Is AI useful for social media marketing?

AI is highly valuable for social media marketing. It can analyze vast amounts of social media data to identify trends, sentiment, and customer preferences.

In addition, AI tools can automate content scheduling, optimize ad targeting, and provide insights on the best times to post. It can also help you generate content as long as you input appropriate queries and ideas. It’s important to remember that AI is not infallible, though. You should always double check the information that AI provides.

How much time does it take to keep social media updated each day?

We generally estimate 15-30 minutes per day for a good social media strategy. This includes posting to varied social media platforms, doing any necessary research about trends, and engaging with your audience.

What is the biggest mistake small businesses make on social media?

Not waiting for results. You aren’t going to see results overnight or even after a month if you’re only employing an organic social media strategy. Paid social is the only way to get results quickly but it also doesn’t help to build social trust the way that organic social media does. We let our clients know up front that it takes about six months to see strong, measurable results.

What do people want to see from businesses on social media?

According to a recent survey by Sprout Social, people want to see authentic content that isn’t constantly trying to sell them something. Most specifically, content about the company’s values, workflow, and best practices. Essentially, they want to know what makes your company different and why they should be working with you instead of the other guy down the street.

What is Threads?

Threads is Meta’s answer to Twitter. Since Elon Musk purchased Twitter, many users have become frustrated with the near daily changes and wishy-washy nature of the platform. Threads works very similarly to Twitter and integrates with Facebook and Instagram accounts. The app was downloaded over 30 billion times in the first 16 hours after it was released, making it one of the most quickly downloaded apps ever.

What new features has Threads added as of August 2023?

Meta has been hard at work updating Threads recently. They added six new features in the last couple of weeks, including sending Threads as direct messages in Instagram, “like” tracking, adding alt text for images, list sorting for the accounts you follow, and a new button for mentions.

Do I need to have a social media presence on Threads?

We strongly recommend having a presence there, especially for B2B brands. Pink Dog Digital will be performing tests to see how well the platform performs over the coming months.

What is the 70/20/10 rule in social media marketing?

At Pink Dog Digital, we primarily work by this rule: 70% content that is educational and useful for your audience, 20% content that is fun or interesting (think holiday posts), and 10% self-promotional content.

Is there any value to being on Snapchat for small businesses?

Big brands tend to do the best on Snapchat, especially for organic content. However, Snapchat ads can be useful for small businesses depending on their target audience.

Should my business have a Reddit account?

As with any social media, this all depends on the type of business you have and the type of customers you want to attract. Reddit accounts generally work best for e-commerce business models or business models that cater specifically to a millennial audience.

How does “fluff content” on social media benefit my business?

We hear this question more often than you may think. Fluff content helps to humanize your brand so your clients can better relate. Additionally, if you’re constantly selling or focusing on serious content, your audience will check out.

How can I increase social media following using emails?

For many small businesses, it is not uncommon to have a larger email list than social media following. Brands can expand their social media following by including “Follow Us” buttons and “Share This” links in all email templates. Including content from your social media accounts will also show email subscribers “what they are missing” and why they should connect with your brand on multiple platforms.

How can I increase social media following using my website?

Users that visit your website and show interest in your brand are exactly the types of users you want following your social media accounts. Make it easy to follow by placing social media icons and social feeds on every webpage. Brands should also be encouraging users to follow and interact with their channels at the end of blog posts or checkout pages.

What is social listening?

Social listening is the process of monitoring social media platforms to track mentions of a brand, product, or service. This can help businesses understand their audience and identify opportunities for engagement.

What is an impression?

An impression occurs when a user sees your content, regardless of whether it was clicked or not. The number of impressions will always be higher than the reach rate because one user can account for multiple impressions. This metric can be used to quantify the number of views for ads, social media posts, web pages, and apps.

What is reach?

Reach is the total number of users who saw your piece of content, including followers and non-followers. Unlike impressions, reach is defined by the number of clicks and engagements your content receives. Any unique user that likes, comments, or shares your content is counted towards reach

What is engagement?

Engagement occurs when users interact with your digital content. This includes liking, sharing, commenting, answering polls, or clicking on links. By measuring measurement, brands can determine the effectiveness of an ad campaign, webpage, social media post, or blog.

What is a vanity metric?

A vanity metric is one that might make you feel great about your social media but isn’t necessarily all that useful. Followers, for example, are often considered a vanity metric. If you have 50,000 followers but no one ever likes your posts, Instagram isn’t going to serve those posts to many people because the engagement quality is so low. It’s a much better idea to focus on important metrics like engagement and reach.

How much of my social media should be promotional?

About 10%. Yes, you read that right. We recommend 60% informational content, 20% fun content, and 10% promotional content. Even then, avoid the hard sell unless you’re e-commerce.

Why should I post to my personal LinkedIn page as a business owner?

While it’s important to post to your business page on LinkedIn, posting to your personal page will almost always result in a larger audience seeing your post. Business pages historically don’t have as large of a reach as personal pages. Your connections want to see your posts!

Is Facebook useful for social media marketing anymore?

Yes and no. Having a Facebook presence is important. However, Facebook is making it harder every day for businesses to get any kind of organic traffic. If you want your Facebook business marketing to go farther, you have to put some ad dollars behind it. It doesn’t have to be a lot but it needs to be something.

Does social media benefit B2B businesses?

Social media absolutely benefits B2B businesses. While Instagram might not be your target audience, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google My Business are all important places to be for any B2B business. It’s always important to remember that businesses are ultimately run by people.

How should we measure social media marketing success?

Every social media campaign is different. In order to measure success, we need to set goals. Goals let us know what we’re measuring against and give us a baseline to create a campaign that can succeed in the first place! The short answer is that it all depends on your business and what you want to achieve.

Should I tag other businesses on my social media pages?

YES! Tagging other businesses or individuals on your social media is a great way to gain exposure and to help those people or businesses gain exposure, as well. Just make sure that you aren’t being spammy about it and that the tags make sense.

Does my business need an email marketing newsletter?

Email marketing doesn’t work for every business – but it’s still important for most businesses. Your blog can easily help feed your newsletter content. Ultimately, it’s just another touchpoint for your clients and a chance for them to see your name!

I heard there were some new social media privacy laws. Do they affect my business?

As long as you aren’t targeting your demographics based on discriminatory practices, nothing will change for you. It primarily focuses on housing ads, ensuring that they aren’t discriminatory.

Can I delete negative comments from social media?

In some cases, yes. It depends on the social media platform and also whether the comment has any validity or not. Many times, you’re better off responding to the negative comment providing a solution than deleting the comment altogether. However, if there is a large amount of profanity or if the person is just being rude for the sake of being rude, you can either delete the comment or request for it to be removed.

How much does social media management cost on average?

According to Sprout Social, the average cost is about $12,300 per month. To be very clear, our social media programs are much more affordable than that since we work primarily with small, local businesses. Want to know more? Get a quote.

How do I build my social media following?

There are a few different ways to do this – first, you’ll need to invite people to your page. Clients, local chambers of commerce, and business partners are good examples of accounts to invite. To expand your following, you’ll really need to invest in boosting posts or running ads since most social media platforms don’t serve a ton of organic traffic for business pages.

Should my business have a Threads account?

We recommend starting a Threads account for your business if your target audience is active on Instagram. Threads allows brands to have a closer, more-personalized connection with its customers. We do however recommend that you take into consideration the time investment that keeping up with a Threads account can take. As a community-driven app, it’s important for businesses to show up consistently to engage with their target audience in an authentic way. If your business is focused on a broader reach, there may be other platforms more suitable and in-line with your engagement goals.

Is Threads the same as Instagram?

Threads is owned by Meta, which is part of the same brand that owns Instagram. But no, Threads is not the same as Instagram – it’s more of an extension of the app. Threads is a separate app that is closely integrated with Instagram, where users can share status updates, photos, and messages primarily with their Instagram friends. You will need an Instagram account to open a Threads account. Unlike the photo and video-driven world of Instagram, Threads prioritizes quick and informal updates.
